The other weekend I packed up my overnight bag and headed off for a weekend get away. My friends and I are always looking for nearby adventures, and that weekend we ended up in Shoshone Falls. It’s only a few hours away in Twin Falls, Idaho. It was a great little escape.
The falls are located on the snake river.
While we were there we also explored some nearby lakes and trails. The lakes are open for swimming, but it was too cold for that. Still, just being by them gave me a summer camp vibes.
We took a trail that looped us around Dierkes lake. The trail took us pretty high up and gave us a gorgeous view of everything below. One part was really rocky and high. We reacted appropriately:
The falls themselves had only just started running a few weeks before so our timing was great. There were lots of great viewpoints to see them from.
We took a break from our outdoor adventures for lunch at Elevation 486 [good food and a good view]. We also stopped off for massages. Trust me, this is an excellent component to add after any outdoor activity ;)
Before we headed home we stopped for a view of Perrine bridge.
Then it was back to normal life and goodbye to waterfalls.
Currently: Missing my family after a wonderful weekend celebrating Gabby’s graduation
